 y Introduction\nThe Cybersecurity Track is a new addition to SomNOG9\, int
 roduced in direct response to Somalia's growing need for trained cybersecu
 rity practitioners. As a technical community\, SomNOG's role is to build t
 he engineers\, analysts\, and practitioners who make cybersecurity effecti
 ve in practice. This track provides participants with hands-on\, practical
  skills across the core domains of cybersecurity operations\, from underst
 anding how attackers think to detecting and responding to incidents in rea
 l-world environments.\nThe track follows SomNOG's 60:40 practice-to-concep
 t methodology. Participants will spend the majority of their time on hands
 -on lab exercises\, working with real tools and scenarios drawn from opera
 tional security environments.\nTopics covered include:\n\nSecurity operati
 ons fundamentals - roles\, responsibilities\, and the security operations 
 center\nCommon attack techniques and how defenders think\nThreat detection
  and network traffic monitoring\nIncident response - preparation\, identif
 ication\, containment\, eradication\, and recovery\nCryptography basics an
 d encryption in practice\nSecure infrastructure design and server hardenin
 g\nHands-on with open-source security and monitoring tools\n\n \nWho shou
 ld apply:\nThis track is designed for network engineers\, systems administ
 rators\, and IT professionals who want to build foundational cybersecurity
  skills and take their first serious step into security operations. Partic
 ipants should have a working understanding of networking concepts and Linu
 x systems. No prior cybersecurity experience is required\, this track star
 ts from the ground up and builds progressively through hands-on practice.\
