Description

This session introduces participants to DevOps from a beginner level and gradually
progresses toward intermediate concepts and practical workflows. The goal is to help
participants understand what DevOps means, why it is important, and how modern
development and operations teams use automation, collaboration, and continuous delivery
to build and deploy applications efficiently.

The session will combine conceptual explanations with practical examples, giving
participants a clear understanding of the DevOps lifecycle and the technologies commonly
used throughout it.

Main Topics

  • Introduction to DevOpsWhat is DevOps?
    DevOps culture and principles
    Development vs. Operations
    DevOps lifecycle

  • Version Control with GitGit fundamentals
    Repositories, commits, branches, and merging
    Basic Git workflow

  • Automation
    Why automation matters
    Bash and scripting fundamentals
    Automating repetitive tasks

  • CI/CD Fundamentals
    Continuous Integration
    Continuous Delivery and Deployment
    Understanding CI/CD pipelines
    Introduction to GitHub Actions/GitLab CI

  • Containers with Docker
    Containers vs. virtual machines
    Images, containers, and Dockerfiles
Building and running applications in containers

Introduction to tools such as Terraform

  • Monitoring and Observability
    Logs, metrics, and monitoring
    Introduction to Prometheus and Grafana
    Understanding application and infrastructure health

  • DevSecOps Fundamentals
Integrating security into the DevOps lifecycle
    Secrets, dependencies, and secure deployments

Practical Component

Participants will also see how these concepts fit together in a simplified real-world
workflow:

Code → Git → CI/CD → Build → Container → Deploy → Monitor

The session is designed to give participants a solid foundation in DevOps and a practical
roadmap for progressing toward more advanced topics such as cloud platforms,
Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and advanced CI/CD.
