About the Summit

Mogadishu Environmental Summit is an annual event that is expected to bring together the Somali environmental professionals and experts, activists, environmental organizations and companies that provide environmental services, academics, researchers, students, investors and entrepreneurs interesting in green business, journalists and media houses to develop capacities, share experiences and collaborate on developing expertise and competency through trainings and research in the field of environment and climate change. The summit will enable a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration and will provide a space for the environmental professionals to share ideas about the country environmental and climate crises and provide creative solutions to solve these issues and challenges. Participation in Mogadishu Environmental Summit’s activities is open to anyone interested in sharing their experiences or learning from others.

Aim of the Summit

  •  Mogadishu Environmental Summit aims to create a platform in which global and local environmental issues are discussed and thoroughly analyzed at our annual summit.
  • Mogadishu Environmental Summit aims to host a diverse array of speakers who specialize in different fields in order to explore and propose solutions to existing global and local environmental problems.
  •  Mogadishu Environmental Summit aims to inform and create a better understanding of pressing environmental and climate challenges and as well provide solutions to the decision makers and other key stakeholders on the environmental and climate crises of the country.
  •  The Summit also aims to create a conducive environment to energize partnerships, activism and research on environment and climate change actions.

This Year’s Summit Theme

Mogadishu Environmental Summit MES-1 is the first annual summit organized by the Action for Environment (A4E).

The summit will bring together professionals from the environmental sector, policy makers, environmental organizations, academics, researchers and other stakeholders.

The goal is to provide a platform to discuss the current Somalia’s environmental and climate issues to explore and propose solutions to existing country environmental challenges.
