Description

This training is designed to strengthen the technical capacity of system administrators across SomaliREN member institutions by providing essential Linux skills required to support campus infrastructure and digital services.

Linux underpins many of the core systems used in higher education and research environments, including identity services, learning management systems, repositories, and network services. This session introduces participants to the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively work within Linux-based environments.

Through a structured and hands-on approach, participants will learn how to navigate the Linux system, manage files and directories, and use essential command-line tools for day-to-day operations. The training emphasizes practical scenarios relevant to university and research institution environments.

This session serves as a foundation for more advanced topics in systems administration, automation, and service deployment within campus infrastructures.
