Track 2: Systems and Services

The Somali Network Operators’ Group (SomNOG) is proud to announce the Systems and Services track as part of SomNOG8. As a cornerstone of our commitment to capacity building within the ICT sector, this track offers hands-on workshops designed to equip participants with the skills necessary for configuring and operating large-scale Internet services on Linux systems.

Throughout the three-day workshop, participants will delve into practical exercises aimed at enhancing their proficiency in managing Internet services effectively. From server configuration to service optimization, attendees will gain invaluable insights into the intricacies of deploying and maintaining robust Internet infrastructures.

Who Should Attend?

This track is tailored for technical staff currently involved in providing Internet services or those aspiring to enter this field. Whether you're responsible for the establishment or provisioning of basic Internet services, this workshop will provide you with the essential knowledge and tools to excel in your role.

Prerequisites

Participants should possess a foundational understanding of Unix/Linux servers, including familiarity with Mail servers, DNS servers, Web servers, and similar services. Additionally, a basic knowledge of networking concepts is required to fully engage with the workshop content.
