
Program Overview
The Somali Network Operators Group (SomNOG) is pleased to announce SomNOG9 - the 9th Annual Workshops and Conference, to be held from 22 to 27 August 2026 in Mogadishu, Somalia.
As SomNOG enters its eleventh year and the beginning of its second decade, SomNOG9 brings together network engineers, systems administrators, cybersecurity professionals, software developers, government institutions, Internet service providers, academics, financial institutions, development organizations, and technology stakeholders for six days of hands-on technical workshops, specialist tutorials, and high-level conference dialogue.
SomNOG9 is organized under the theme:
"Connected by Design: Advancing Somalia's Digital Infrastructure and Integrated Public Services"
The event will comprise three components:
- SomNOG9 Workshops - 22–24 August 2026: Three days of intensive, hands-on technical workshops across four parallel tracks — Network Infrastructure, Systems and Services, Software Development, and Cybersecurity (new for SomNOG9).
- Tutorials Day - 25 August 2026: Focused specialist sessions addressing emerging technologies and high-demand technical topics relevant to Somalia's digital priorities.
- SomNOG9 Conference - 26–27 August 2026: Two days of keynote addresses, technical presentations, operational case studies, lightning talks, and expert panel discussions across the four conference sub-themes.

SomNOG9 is organized by the Somali Network Operators Group (SomNOG), the Somali Research and Education Network (SomaliREN), and the Internet Society Somalia Chapter (ISOC Somalia Chapter).
