Track 1: Network Infrastructure Introduction

Welcome to Track 1: Network Infrastructure, a vital component of SomNOG7 organized by the Somali Network Operators’ Group (SomNOG). As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing skills within the ICT sector, this track offers intensive workshops designed to enhance participants' proficiency in planning, designing, and implementing medium to large-scale IP infrastructure networks.

Purpose

At SomNOG, we recognize the crucial role of robust network infrastructure in driving digital connectivity and innovation. The workshops and tutorials conducted during the first four days of SomNOG week aim to empower ICT professionals and university graduates with hands-on training sessions. By focusing on a 60:40 practice-to-concepts ratio, we ensure that participants not only understand theoretical concepts but also gain practical skills to address market demands and bridge skill gaps in the industry.

Workshop Description

The Network Infrastructure workshop, spanning three days, provides participants with immersive training in network planning, design, and implementation. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical exercises, attendees will learn how to build scalable and resilient IP infrastructure networks tailored to the needs of small, medium, or large-scale connectivity provider organizations.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is ideal for technical staff operating within multi-connectivity provider organizations, network engineers, network instructors, and fresh graduate engineers seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in network infrastructure management. Participants should have prior experience in TCP/IP networks and are required to bring their own laptops to fully engage with the workshop content.

Join us for an enriching learning experience that will equip you with the tools and expertise to drive innovation and excellence in network infrastructure management.
